Absorbency
The ability of a fabric to take in moisture.
Hand
The way the fabric feels when it is touched. Terms like softness, crispness, dryness, and silkiness are all terms that describe the hand of the fabric. A good hand refers to shape retention without stiffness.
Luster
Fabric luster is usually a visual description, (dull, bright, glittery, etc).
Sun Resistance
Being resistant to ultra violet (UV) light or sunlight. UV light, or sunlight, will cause materials and surfaces to fade or discolor.
Resiliency
The ability of a fabric to spring back to its original shape after being twisted, crushed, wrinkled, or distorted in any way.
Strength
Fabric is made in many varying strengths and degrees of durability, from the finest gossamer fabrics to sturdy canvas sailcloth's. Abrasion- The degree by which a fabric is able to withstand loss of appearance through surface wear, rubbing, chafing, and other frictional actions. |
