The intention of Sustainable Design is to eliminate negative environmental impact completely through skillful, sensitive design. Manifestations of sustainable design require no non-renewable resources, impact the environment minimally, and relate people with the natural environment.

Sustainable Living is a lifestyle that attempts to reduce an individual's or society's use of the Earth's natural resource and his/her own resources. Sustainable living is fundamentally the application of sustainability to lifestyle choice and decisions.

ADO's Sustainable Design
Sustainable design and sustainable development are critical factors to sustainable living. ADO sustainable design encompasses the development of appropriate technology, which is a staple of sustainable living practices.
Sustainability of textiles refers to any method utilized to attempt to make the production of that textile more environmentally friendly. ADO uses 2 methods; Bio Protect ® and Oeko-Tex Standard 100.
ADO Bio Protect® is textile technology against bacteria. Despite regular cleaning, detrimental bacteria often stick to fibers. ADO Bio Protect® finds a remedy for this by selectively destroying pathogens upon contact before they can spread across the fabric. This protection is ideal for residential homes but also for commercial/contract facilities.
The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is a globally uniform testing and certification system for textile raw materials, intermediate and end products at all stages of production. Its aim is to ensure products are free from harmful substances. ADO fabrics available with these applications will have the logos on the sample.
